Tire Choice
Need to get someone's or everyones' opinions here. I am looking to buy new tires for my 02 P5...Looking at 205/55 R16 in the Micheline XGT H4 OR Continental ContiExtremeContact tires. Anyone have good/bad experiences with theses tires? Any other good suggestions. No track use but drive relatively hard in dry, wet, and occasional snow conditions (of course not hard in the snow).

I have got the Conti on my car, and I would highly recommend them. Tirerack.com rates higher then the Michelins, and they are half the price of Michelins, so what is your problem? Get them now!
P.S. I am not trying to sell you anything, I am just being a bit nuts, and sarcastic. Goodluck.

Cool!!! OK....so tell me more about the Contis. Tirerack rates them higher BUT are they as good as they say? You live in Boston where you see a little worse than what I get in Virginia. Give me the low down on the pros and cons of these tires

stick with 205/50 16 -Yoko AVS 100 or Sumitomos HRTZII - both $77 and are great deal in Summer tires or 195/50 16 for winter, but there is much less to choose from in all season.
Well just move to Florida and get a set of Yoko AVS 100 they rule!!!

Since they don't come in a good size for the P5's the 105/55-16's give about a 5% speedo/odo error, and probably decrease your (already meager) accelleration a tiny bit. Your speedo should already be reading higher than actual speed anyway, so a small percentage like that shouldn't make your speeding tickets that much more frequent, but your mileage reading will be a little lower than actual miles, although actual wear on the engine shouldn't be that much different. The larger Diameter should also slightly (probably un-noticable) improve your highway fuel economy somewhat. When I get new tires (if i need them before i get rid of my P5) these are probably the ones i will get.

Do you have any idea what kind of life I can expect to get out of these tires...I've read that some people are getting 40,000 miles ou tof these tires. This seems very acceptable for a performance tire. Any thoughts? I appreciate it.
