Exclamation Biggest rims for a G1

What are the biggest rims that I can get for my generation 1 protege without having them rub? I have the LX with 14inch tire option right now and I was hoping to fit like 18's. Would they rub or not? Also where is a cheap place online besides ebay because I dont trust it haha to get chrome 18's or 17's?

At the SoCal Protege meet, there was a 1G with 18's and 215/35 tires. I don't think it was lowered though, which would go a long way towards fitting them under the fender. You'd still likely have to roll the rear fenders for clearance.

In this picture, it's the white Protege on the left.

Yup 18's. Could do 19's but would require serious lowering and a body kit to make it look right.

ive got 17x7's under my 1st gen 323 and i had to bend the lips up so that they wouldnt scrub, when i lowered my car. 18's would probably be the biggest. and you would have to get some seriously small tires, so that they wouldnt rub the struts.

It all comes down to offset and suspension. There's ways that things can be done. If hard measurements are taken then one can purchase a wheel based on those requiremnets to fit what they want.
