16x7.5 in. +44 mm. on mp3 (stupid question)

Have you ever tried a 16x7.5" wheel with +44 mm offset on the MP3/3rd gen sedan? As long as it doesn't stick out past the fender that is OK. (Stock class rules)
Reason I'm asking ... 215/40/16 Hoosier autocross tire is measured for a 7.5" wide wheel. And the Black Racing Pro-N1 wheels come in 16x7.5" +44mm.
The tires are only 22.7" OD compared to 24" of the stock MP3 tires. So there is extra room for suspension compression.
