Cool Vancouver - Edmonton and back

I took my Pro GT(x) out to Edmonton and back this last long weekend. What a drive!
I took the Coq on up to Kamloops then through Jasper to Edmonton. On the way back I came down through Lake Louise and the Fraser Canyon. Great weather though all the way! Through both section of the Rockies I was the only car around for at couple of hours! It's was the stuff of car commercials!
I can only say, "Turbo's are made for mountain climbing" I love the flexibility of "when should I pass" as opposed to "Do I have enough time to pass!"

One thing I have to say about Edmonton: How does anyone with a slammed car survive the roads. Much harsher than I expected.

I am planning on doing it again in the summer, but I anticipate the spectacular drive through the Rockies will be hampered by the "rubber necking" Mobile Home drivers.

Gotta Love it!

Sweet hey rkives?!? I have driven from Calgary to Vancouver several times and from Calgary to Kamloops a couple of times. The P5 handles so well for being stock. It is a blast to drive though the mountains. I would love for the club to have a large meet up in Golden sometime, to meet the 'crews' in Alberta. I know some of them would come.

Golden, that would be a nice cruise! If I was on the mainland, I would say no problem. That extra time waiting for the ferry usually means an extra nite stay over and an extra $100+ So I would have to know well in advance to do somthing like that.

Hey rkives we must have passe each other on the way . We drove out to Vancouver on Thursday and then to the Island on Friday. Wow was the drive ever nice. It's the first long drive since I got my new springs installed.

One thing though, sure was noisy heading to Van with that crushed gravel covering on the highway. It must be fairly new as the way back was quiter and it is the same covering it looked like. I recall that the eastbound side was redone in 94-95 or so.

As for all the pot hole here in Edmonton, I guess you keep a sharp eye out and avoid them. I'm even more worried now with my lowering mod.
