GI: Thermal coating group buy.

One of my local friends that I do powdercoating with has just acquired a thermal coating machine. I'm going to do my obx header just to display what you can expect. We'd be able to do anything from turbine housings, headers, exhaust componants, heat shields...anything metal that you want to retain heat in.

Would there be any intereste in setting up some sort of GB for Thermal coated componants??

I remember from an earlier thread that you said you had researched thermal coatings and that you were really interested in getting yours done, and since I just got my headers, I was actually going to post a question about it becasue it does seem like a great idea....if you get yours done or you could post some of the things youve found while researching it I would most likely be interested...Also do you have an idea of how much it would cost?
Thanks.

I spoke with JET COAT and they quoted me $195 for an OBX header. I haven't done mine yet so I won't know what it would cost yet but I wouldn't think it would be anymore than $150 if I were able to do several pieces at once.

did the price they quoted include return shipping?? If so it's odd that they'd quote so differently.

Another BUMP! I'm just wondering when your getting yours done because I'm pretty interested in getting it done and am curious about the outcome! And I'd rather send my header before its installed instead installing it and taking it right back off!

You know what? I think my Bosal header has some sort of coating on it...but after 3 years I'm starting to see some spots that look like rust or something. Does this seem normal? Does it need to be re-coated?

theg guy with the thermal coating machine lives a few hours away from me so it's not real easy for me to get accurate quotes in a hurry. I'll have to set up time to go and meet with him and look it all over.

Karen, yeah. That tends to happen with high heat, road salt, etc....nothing lasts forever!
