I'm glad I saw this, I was just gonna install my eBay SRI this morning too. I guess I'm holding out on that, so I'm interested.

For all of you 1.6ers out there:

I'm aware that your engines don't like alterations to your stock air box much.

But, I have been reading and researching as much as I can and even joined an Australian Mazda forum so I could post and receive replies.

All I can tell you all so far is, worldwide, the 1.6L is just as prevalent and popular as the 2.0
and was still in use as late as some 2004 models. It was used in Proteges, 323s, Astinas, the Premacy and Ford Tierra and I'm sure others that I don't even know about.
I've not read any posts about rough idling or CELS.

That said, I can't guarantee you will not experience these symptoms any more than Matty can promise you won't blow your engine if you buy his supercharger. Simota has been making filters and intakes for more than a decade, and their SRI and Twin Charger are both made specifically for the 1.6.

I will guarantee that the fit and quality will be to your satisfaction, though...

So is the only difference between the Twin Charger and the CAIs the filter or what?

I'm kinda physics dumb so I didnt really get any useful information out of that, but that's ok. I'll just stick with the CAI. Keep us posted Gary, I hope this comes through.

EDIT: Just read the other forum, that had a little better description. Anyway, I'm in for the Twin Charger ... it's only an extra $10 so why not. I'll send you money via PayPal right away Gary. Thanks for the great deal!

So I think I'll order one do you have any pics of it in a 1.6L? Oh and really which one should I get?

edit: never mind I found the link for the 1.6L http://www.simota.com/pro_in_twin.php

and it has the mount for the MAF sensor
