ILLINOIS protege meet
#122
It looks like it might rain both days. I'm with Pete. Unless it's a torrential downpour, I'd like to come out anyway. I was more interested in seeing and talking about cars than the cookout. We could drop the cookout part, and head someplace nearby for food. I don't trust forecasts out past 48 hours much anyway. It might rain early, or late, so it may not be a problem for us. It doesn't look like it's going to be all that warm or nice out, so what does everyone think about cancelling the cookout portion and going somewhere nearby to eat?

Sounds good to me. Maybe we could meet the STL people half way since they're meeting for a drive on the same day. J/K That's a bit far for me...

I'm not scared of the rain, either...and to tell you guys the truth, it now looks like I'm supposed to attend the godson's birthday on Sunday...don't know if the parents would be very understanding of my ditching them to go look at cars. So if we could keep this on Saturday, that would really help me out.
And Eric is right...now they're predicting rain for both days, but you can't really trust spring forecasts.
I have no problem with still meeting up at Busse Woods around 1:00, and then depending on the weather, hanging for a little while and then going to eat. I'm just concerned that folks who arrive late won't be able to keep up with us. We'll have to figure out some way to let people know where we are.
I won't be around Friday night to discuss this on-line, but I'll check in here.

Cookout
Okay...we can skip the cookout and just have the meet.
Are beverages still allowed? :-)
I will try to bring photo's of my car "under repair"

Yes, I'm still in. Anything is 'allowed', we're just going to keep things a bit looser than a cookout to accomodate the weather. We can hang around there from 1pm to 2pm at the earliest for latecomers. If the weather's bad, and we want to go somewhere to eat after 2pm, anyone later than that is SOL. If the weather's OK, we could be there longer.

Okay, Eric...sounds like a plan.
Are we going to assume that the folks who are signed up on Wil's page for this event are aware of this, or should they be e-mailed?

oh well, can't make it today....but if there is a plan for anything between the 18th and 22nd, let me know. Or if anyone wants a quick meet-up for a beer or something, drop me a line.

I'm deeply offended
That you weren't all standing there in the rain when I dropped by around 4:30.
I was looking forward to being the person there with the newest Protege. As I rounded the traffic circle there my Protege5 (about the color of that smiley) rolled over 102 miles - hence my not notifying people in advance that I'd be there.
