yeah, no doubt. the powertain is actually assembled in japan and then crated to atlanta, GA where it's put in the Taurus. I bet he's going to hand some of us our asses anyway....

Korey, when I verified that it was Mark N. He told me that this is a new car he's done a lot of drag racing in but it's not gutted like his last one.

nope. One of my friends and heros from the SHO comunity wants to come out and school us....

Due to recent events I'm going to re-name this event to "The Seabolt 1338". I think it's fitting we do this since it's what Shannon loved and it'll be done in the right environment.

well, Ive never run a full course like this before so it'll be interesting to see how I can do in a beater that has less than $1K in it right now.

Ok, I'll post the updated details here and on the first post. I just got back with the manager of the track. Here's the new details:

We have 2 choices.....really one isn't all that nice but we may have to go this route.

1. Cost is $100 per racer. You will be required to source your own helmet. Only 3 cars allowed on the track at any time. NO VISITORS / SPECTATORS / CHILDREN / PETS...means no'one can watch us but us 10.

2. Cost is $100 per racer + INSURANCE. This option allows us to have visitors/spectators/family at the track with us. It also provides us the ability for ride-alongs. The insurance is $775 for the group. That means we either have to pay $170 per racer or we have a door charge for anyone that wants to watch. The problem is I have to buy this upfront and there's never any guarantee how many people show up to our meets.

What I had originally thought about doing was planning this on a weekend. We'd camp out at the same park as last time (Cheaha) and then on Monday we'd all caravan over to the track and do some fun racing. If we get 20 or so campers (including our 10 racers the cost of the insurance comes down a bit...the more people we have to come out and watch the better. Being on a weekday will hurt attendance I'm sure.

What do you guys think?

According to when it is, i'll see if i can make the ride over

lets see... so... gotta come up w/ $1775 up front...

if 20 peoplez show up... would be ~$140 for racers and $40 for losers... I mean non-racers... how much was camping @ Cheaha? i cant remember

if you split the site rental with someone it's like $7 a night

I may donate camp sites for people that want to come. It would be cheaper for me to pay for everyones camping than the $775 insurance.

wow, price really jumped, but I see where it came from, I am still down for this most likely, i just need to watch for the details when they become a little more finer and we know what everybody wants to do. $100 is good and fine by me, but if enough people want to come out then I dont want them to not be able to watch, so i think I can swing the other portion depending on when it's due. Thank god i got that second job!
