Question Will 205/55-16 be a problem on a Protege 5?

I have nice snow tires I want to use for my wife's 02 Protege 5 with steel wheels. I have a set of 205/55-16 but I am not sure if they will cause any probelms (OEM are 195/50-16). Any ideas? TIA

Whether or not they rub, they will look awful, and gear you up (taller) for slower acceleration and probably lower MPG too. They're about 1.2" taller in overall daimeter than your stockers, and while turning a taller tire might seem to be better for MPG, at some point the engine is working harder and negates any gearing gains. Unless it's worth saving your nice wheels, then as long as they don't rub I guess you can live with it then.
