gas cap problems

Hey, has anyone else had this problem? when my tank gets about half full, it seems to depressurize or somethin causing the check engine light to come on... but then when it drops about another 2/8 of a tank, it seems to correct itself and the check engine light finally stops glaring in my face.

its not like its a horrible problem, its just really strange and annoying. I've never had another car do that to me... and I've never heard of it happeneing to anyone else. I guess I could go out and buy a new gas cap to see if it fixes the problem, but just curious if anyone else has EVER heard of that happeneing.

if your getting P0455 gross leak detected have some one listen by the driver's rear wheel well as you turn the ign. on and off about 5 sec in each postion . If you hear a clicking sound this means the CDCV (cansiter drain cut valve ) is working and the most likely cause is the evap control valve which is mount at the rear of the fuel tank. These two valves are the most common causes of this problem. This only works one 2 gen and won't work on 3 gen proteges.
