Post Mp3 engine noise

I have 2 Mp3's one blue and one yellow. My blue one gets driven alot i have about 14000 miles on it allready. My yellow one doesn't get driven as much since my girlfriend doesn't have far to go to work. The blue one started making a funny noise, like the heater was on even when it wasn't. I took it in to the mazda dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They just told me if it got worse to bring it back in and keep a log of what it does in different driving conditions. They also said they don't have much experiance with the mp3, the whole layout of the car is different then a standard protege. I guess i was asking if anyone else with an mp3 was experiancing the same problem as mine or not.

hmmm...i own a 01 ES, which is basically like an MP3, the only differnences in the engine being an ECU upgrade and a different exhaust. as far as i know, (and people please correct me) is that the basic engine bay between the two cars is virtually identical. I dont know exactly what your dealer is saying but i think hes pulling one on you.

BTW u have 2 MP3's? unfair

you have two MP3's? you suck.

as for the engine noise, try taking it to another dealer and see what they say. the one you took it to might not know too much about anything, let alone the MP3.

you didn't pay close attentiion under the hood the service manager popped the hoods of my car and a new es and there is a bit of difference under there.

the only difference under the hood of an MP3 and an ES is the MP3 has a plastic cover and strut bar, and the ES has cruise control.

If it happens only when at speed, it could be your wipers wistling in the wind. This has been an issue with other MP3's

I've got an MP3 also, and one noise that I have noticed but not had a chance to investigate, is a whistle type sound when accelerating...as soon as I take my foot off the gas, it stops, its not a wind wistle because it doesn't depend on speed at all (even at 15mph) so, I'll eventually get it in and see if the dealer can figure something out, but they'll probably just give me some shitty run around and fix nothing..
