Question to turbo or not to turbo

im thinkin about turboing my 97 protege 1.8 DOHC
is this possible and how expensive is it to do?
im pretty well oblivious to the process so any help would be appriciated

You could turbo your Pro for like $2,000.... but it would be craptastic and you wouldn't be able to boost very high, your money would be better spent elsewhere.

For about $3,500+ or so (just a guess, that what the shops around here are charging) you could have decent setup.

Once you have turbo you dont want to go back. I went back and hated almost every min of it.

No problems with putting a turbo on an auto tranny just maintenance issues and upgrading a few parts it can be done.

I did my conversion for 2400 and change but that's on the high side. The cost includes the half-cut with fenders, wiring, ecu, dashboard, steering column, stick shift, and the BPT engine and the 4wd gearbox. Price also includes the B6turbo gearbox and axles, labor, Greddy Type S BOV, Gallant intercooler, custom make SS intercooler piping, new timing belt, new clutch plate, and a custom made gearbox mounting to the body.
Exhaust piping is not included and so does the other electronics and gauges.
