Just got a Bosal muffler

Bosal

I got this for 150cdn. Good deal if you ask me.

I was wondering what size pipes should I go for? 2 or 2.25? I was also wondering if there would be performance gains running it from the resonator onwards instead of going cat-back(expensive). I'm gonna get a muffler shop to make me the pipes.

2" should be fine for a SOHC. The resonator will keep it a little quieter, and the performance advantage of removing the resonator is slight at best (a couple of HP at best).

That's where I got the muffler. They are having a blowout on them for 150 either with single angle cut or twin tip.

Thanks man..will do. Would I gain any power with larger diameter pipe from the resonator on? Say 2 inches from the resonator all the way to the muffler

The stock piping is fairly good sized (about 1 7/8"), and don't have too many crimps, but there is some room for improvement. The difference in price should be pretty small. Most muffler shops will prefer to cut the stock pipe in an area where they can weld it more easily, so the extra pipe and 2-3 more bends is an easy add-on. And at 11 years old, your original pipe may be pretty bad anyway.
