Bosal Exhaust & AEM CAI

Over at protegegarage.com, they have a AEM Intake & Bosal Exhaust Combo Special for $498.00 (shipping included). It sounds like a pretty good deal to me, but what does everyone here think? I have been reading lots about the ebay CAI, and I'm not sure which route to go. A couple questions:

1. Does the Boasl Catback Exhaust w/ 2.25" piping have a good sound? Not ricey or anything I would think.
2. Is the AEM CAI a good choice?

I would think that making those 2 mods would increase the HP on my 99 Protege Sedan a bit. Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry, I don't know what the Bosal sounds like...but how much if you bought the exhaust only?
The AEM runs aout 150.00 or so. How much are you saving by buying both?
I have a generic-type SRI with a Monsterflow filter.
IMHO, piping is piping. Just get a good filter!

Key Kargo, did the SPD SRI match up well with your intake manifold? Mine isnt staying on with the rubber couplings provided. The pipe doesnt match up well, and is not a direct fit. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Brad.

^^^exactly, you can never go wrong with aem. Its kind of a choice, Would you buy generic cheese when you can buy kraft for almost the same price. $498 is a little steep. Id say just get the intake, a magnaflow(my favorite) muffler, dont worry about the bigger pipe, you have 2" anyways, wont make much difference if your not boosting. If your looking for anything performance, intake and exhaust will only yeild a barely noticeable performance increase, ie, throttle response, gas mileage. If you want any real performace, save your money, boost, and then get the appropriate intake/exhaust. Concluding, dont spend 498 on exhast/intake that is really not going to do all that much for your car. You drive a low horspower car, make it pretty or boost to make it fast or both.

I can't say I agree, but you're right, it's a personal choice. I paid 45 bucks for mine, shipped, and it works & fits just fine. The filter alone is worth that much, so I think I got a pretty good deal. And I have enough money left over to buy the GOOD cheese!
