Got the Bosal on

I got the Bosal California version put on my Pro5 today & man do I love it!! It looks & sounds incredible. Those of you afraid its going to sound like a Honda need not worry. This is the exhaust for you. Its a nice deep rumble, not a high pitched whine. I came from a V8 Bronco with headers & dual flows & this compares (not as loud of course but still has that sound) imagine flows meet glasspacks (probably not a good description but its sorta hard) I can just say it sounds good. And you still have the option of adding the sound dampening cone. I have some pics that I will do my best to get up tonight. I will try to figure out a way to get a good sound clip too. I'll reply to this with the pics & put both pics & sound on the site. It took me a while to decide to go ahead & test this out as opposed to wait for Greddy to put out a cat back (Greddy was previously the only import exhaust I liked) and now Im glad I went with the Bosal! A lot less & I think it is quite comparable (and they have much much better customer service) I was very impressed with both the exhaust system as well as Bosal themselves. They are all great guys.

What is with yahoo? I mean everytime you guys post pics it leads me to like some big board where you have to go thru 4 subtitles before I can see the pics? When I post my link to http://photos.yahoo.com/mp3owner Does it take you guys to the same place? Because when I click on my link it goes strait to the pics. After I sign in of course. Hmm...just thinking out loud here and wanting to be able to see pics without all this BS.

Mitch, it seems that it doesn't fit very well. The exhaust tip is way to the left (not following the little arch on the bumper)...

anyway to fix that? The other red P5 seems to have a better fit.

BTW, some links doesn't seem to work

Finally!!! That's what I've been trying to tell you guys all along. Seriously though, congrats on the exhaust Mitch. I love mine, and I'm not the easiest person to please. I told you you would like it. I couldn't see the pics, but there is play from side to side with the donuts that hold the exhaust. Mitch must have been really hitting some turns in his excitement with the new exhaust. I do always get the stupid Yahoo login page when I click links to pics.

I don't mind the login shiot, It's that I have to find the site that the pics are on. I mean can't you post the exact location on the pics and not just the whole yahoo listing page where you have to play "Find The Pics"!!! I hope that my links don't do that shiot to you guys. If it does let me know and I just wont post pics on yahoo no more.

About the links. Thats just because not everyone is a member. When I click on the link I put for the pic, it goes straight to the pic. When I click on the link I put for the list of all the pics, it goes to the folder with all the pics. The only reason I did it like that is because I didnt have time to post them on the site last night.
Yeah, the muffler is a bit off. I just havent had time to go under there & adjust it. Eric, did yours do this? If so, how did you adjust it?

Mine didn't actually, and I didn't see the pics because I'm not a member on Protege5online. If it's not to far off, the rubber hangers that hold the exhaust system up have a couple of inches of play from side to side. Just try pushing the muffler in the direction you want it to go.

Im still trying to get an accurate "yes" or "no" on that. I have customers with the 1.8L & 2.0L with the bosal & no problems. I hear that the 1.6L is the exact same set up. Bosal states that its for the 99 & up (but they dont say which engine) In my opinion it is the same & you wont have a problem. But I havent physically done it or know anyone that has. Eric, seems like I heard you say that it was the same. Did you get that info from somewhere reliable? I've got a couple of 1.6ers that want it but I'd rather have a good solid YES before I sell it to them & have problems afterwards1!

I emailed Bosal when the exhaust first came out and asked about the 1.6L and this is the response I got...

Mike
Yes it will fit a 1.6L and it is a direct bolt-on. HP gains around 3%-6% to
the wheels.
Here are some good mail order companies.

Same information I got from Mick in the many emails we sent back and forth while I was waiting for the exhaust to arrive in the US. Mick told me that the exhaust does fit the 1.6L and 1.8L Proteges. It also fits the new 2.0L Proteges because from what I can tell from the factory service manual, all '99+ Proteges have the same exhaust shape. The only difference is the dual cat models and the shorter P5 rear section.

That sounds good to me. So Paul, I can get it for your 1.6L. I was thinking there wouldnt be a problem fitting the 1.6L because I didnt think they where different. I sell it for 385.00 shipped in the US (retail on this system is 500.00)
