Thy vs Sleeper
#16
Dude i know the same feeling . We were at the berlin turnpike watching a viper tear *** on everyone. When alittle SER sentra whooped him by atleast 2 or 3 cars. Everyone was shocked and the viper was wicked pissed . So they raced again and the senta ate him again. We went up to the guy and he claimed he just had intake and exhaust and if we beat him he would show us lol. Thats what i want my car to be like ..Jon

I was confident, I hadn't driven my car in 2 weeks...Riding down the road, I got my car really high in revs in 3rd and clutched in and gassed repeatedly just to here the melodious sound of the blow off valve.
Red Light ahead...sitting at it was Geo Metro. From far back noticed the lowered stance and to my enjoyment an exhaust at least 5" big. I pulled up next to him just as the light turned green.
A deafening roar came from his lack of exhaust, I couldn't even hear or FEEL my own revs I looked down at my tach and shifted only to come to a stop at the next light 30 meters away.
He nonchalantly rolled his window down at the next stop and politely says, "We're racing". I nodded in agreement and I snickered unbelievably to myself. It was too funny how bad I was going to beat him.
Bring my revs up. Light changes. With a chirp I'm out and reach full boost, widing out first gear too fast. I look back to see where he is and to my surprise he's not in my rearview, but at my back quarter panel. "Easy enough" I said. Thinking maybe it's just because he's so light. I shift into 2nd, with a squeal of my tires I expect too see him disappear.
But no. My ears capture a distinct roar. From the distance I hear a small tornado approaching and in a blaze of flying glory the Metro screams past me rocking my car and sounding like a hyena giving birth while wild banschees join howling in the chorus.
My life flashed before my eyes. I let off the throttle in disbelief trying to encompass the events that occured in the last 4 seconds. All the while noticing a tiny flame erupt from the 5" exhaust on the Metro nearly 6 cars away by now.
A mile up we pull off. A turbocharged Metro with a built 2.0 engine running 22lbs of boost.
I accepted defeat and acknowledge to him that I was a lesser being and we parted.

You guys have to realize something ,,, In Jamaica and other countries the Suzuki Swift is the same as a Geo Metro and they came with at DOHC 16VALVE engine .... I don't remeber the output but I think it was a 1.8 ... and very fast... I think they had them here as a matter of fact I know they had them here ... they are just a bit hard to find ...
thos will woop on any Protege all day long

This post was from wayyyyyy back in the day. But just to re-iterate, I ran into this guy again who claims that his car was currently in 10 second land, but couldn't remember a 60' or a trap speed....
I don't doubt the car is fast, but trap speed means a lot, if not more than ET, I was suspicious, but I was surely impressed.
Currently the car looks much better, new FMIC which took away from the sleeper look, but it was freshly painted black and had a STOCK exhaust with an electric cutout right before the cat. Gets an A+ in my book.
