so i was headin up the cut the other day... its a stretch of the transcanada HWY where i live, around 1230am... i see this old thunderbird sc beside me so i drop gear to 4th and hes pacing me the hole time... then at 140km/h it rear tires light up and i heard the most loudest scream comin from his car and took off like a bat outa hell.
he slowed down for me and i followed him to a parkin lot... it look completly stock, but he spend over $14000 on his engine.

fully forged
balanced
ported polished
upgraded roots? blower and intercooler.... absolutley everything

he was running 22psi of superchargered boost at froughly 550hp.... he has soo much torque in that damn this his frame is twisted and his windcreen in crack...

he build it all himself and on a 70L tank of 94 gas... he only gets roughly 200km/s

all i gotta say is: 'I raced a 550hp Thunderbird with 22psi of supercharged boost, and I dont care that I got my *** served to me pipping hot"!!!!!!

I'd find it hard to believe the guy made that much power on his SC-bird. I've been keeping up with them for years and to date the fastest SC-coupe is only a 11s car and he's making about 400whp.

Sounds like the guy spent a lot of money on his car but a little hesitant when I hear people saying things like 500hp on 22 psi....stock they ran 17psi and only made 210bhp. (320lb-ft though)

Holy ****!!!
A stock DSM makes 210 ponies, but has shitty torque in comparison to that!
And it did not run on 17psi....wow...I never knew those cars were so easily modified to reach the numbers as listed above!!!

the neat thing about the 3.8L SC engines is they are bullitproof for starters. Also, intercooled M90 superchargers make a LOT of torque down low. The problem is the restrictive header and exhaust system. Just swapping on a set of shorty headers and open exhaust should get you 25-30whp. A lot of people just up the boost and end up popping the head gasket because the exhaust can't release the pressure fast enough. Well, typically, headers are cheap and easy but on the t-bird there is VERY little room and only 1-2 companies make headers for them.....so they are $$$. Ford ecu's are super easy to crack and ajust and the fuel system is very caparble of 300+whp stock. The downside is a very heavy car.
