rsx is pretty quick...

My mom drives the RSX Type-S and it is pretty quick. It is very fast compared to my '94 Protege DX of course . I would say that with the standard version of the RSX and automatic, that the RSX will still win, although not by that much. With the Type S, you have no chance bud...

I guess it depends on how good of a driver you are. If you're pretty good, you have a chance.

once again this is comparing a 130/135 (hp/torque respectively), 2650+lb car to a 160/142, 2800+ car crippled by an automatic...Some decent drivers have recieved mid 16's with a Protege, and again a lot of mags have trouble breaking 16 with a 02 Civic Si 5 speed, same engine with a little less torque I think (5lb/ft??)...

It WILL be close...if he can drive and his tires are up to par...Also stock tires on most Hondas can barely legally be refered to as "tires", so if his RSX is completely stock even better (depending on the stall converters capacity, it might lug it anyway)...

Then again, it's not just weight vs hp.

I've beaten cars that are supposely way faster than the Prelude.. Good luck to both drivers, I guess.

Do I get to race the winner?

LOL.. this is sad..

Well, according to these numbers, it looks like the base RSX will still win.

i know my car is slower than the rsx. I'm just saying that i might be able to win since i know more of what i'm doing than the rsx guy. And dont it require some kind of brake torque launch to get good numbers outa an automatic. I dont believe he can get a 8.7 0-60 buy just punching it off the line. Like i said before i dont think he knows how to launch his car and thats to my advantage. Since it is considerably slower starting from lower rpms. Yes and i still havent gotten a chance to race him yet. I wasnt able to go to the track tonight and he probably wouldnt go any. He says racing in a straight line isnt his thing. So i am still trying to persuade him to go so i can prove to him his rsx is not invincible.

i think you can pull it off. i have beaten my frineds stock rsx automatic but with him having a friend in his car. but it was extremely close. i think if you get a perfect launch than you can do it.
