Pro vs Pro

So I am going home.............then on a red light this newer Protege stops next to me.........he's like "nice car" .......
so we pull over at a gas station and we start checking out each other's cars............I told the guy to check out Protegeclub.com since he didn't know about it............hopefully he'll swing by soon....
I also let him know that we are planning a big Illinois meet in May.
then as we are about to go he's like
"hey the light is still red.....you wanna go for it ?"
he had an automatic, my Pro is stick, so I had an advantage.....but
his ride was a 2.0L though compared to my 1.8 and he let me know that just before the light turned green...........
so what do you guys think happened......????
his performance mods as far as I saw: an intake and exhaust.......same as my car......

the light turned green and we had a victory for all the first generation proteges.....he he.............
I did push my car though.....almost to redline, and I rarely do that 'cause I try to take care of my baby

that's why we need to make a Protegeclub.com card or something like that.........promote the club.................
no one ever got to it though...........and the Protegeclub.com decals too.......it seems like after so much talk everyone forgot about it ......................I am probably just going to make my own protegeclub.com decal soon......

well.....enough of the bragging.................., but I have never met another pro guy in person ...............it was fun........
hopefully he'll join the club and see all the kick-*** people involved with this kick-*** car.........

while i've never had the pleasure, i have raced other G1's, but the G1 Pro has been bench raced as the quickest of the 3, each with basic mods.

The 1.8L BP is unratedly strong and can hold a ton of power in stock form, it was feed rally dirt and big gulps of air as a child, so it grows up big and strong when nurished. The newer G2/G3 engines have since lost a bit of that race breed edge, but i think they may be bringing it back with the MP3/P5 as they mature a bit more in the industry, as with the return of the rotary, the RX8.

I met my first fellow protege owner today. He just showed up at my work asking for me by name. They started describing him to me and I was like "who the **** is asking for me by name?" It was Mxyzptlk. We didn't race or anything...just looked at each others cars then I decided that I better get to work cuz you know how kids are at work without supervision.

very similar. We both have sound systems and intakes. Mine is lowered, but his is yellow so its dead even. I am assuming he asked to Corey not azrakain though. That would have been funny. He may have said "who the **** owns that red station wagon?" My workers would have said "what sataion wagon?" and when he pointed my car out they would have said "oh...thats not a statoin wagon. That is a "Sports hatchback" and that is Corey's car..." At least thats what I've told 'em....

I too have actually met up with a fellow ProtegeClub member here...Craigrrrp and I met up for the first time a week and a half ago...spent hours chewing the fat, bench racing....all sorts of stuff....then the weekend afterwards we, him his girlfriend me and my wife and son all went to the WIC together...we had a blast. Meeting new people that you KNOW you have a common interest with is a lot of fun....espeically after communicating with them like this for so long..

believe it or now I have actually gone out and met 27 different people out there in the world that I have met like this....I have actually taken vacation trips all over the country to meet up with them....its been a gas...and a very rewarding experience for me. I hope you ALL get to meet other ProtegeClub members had have as much fun as I have makeing new REAL LIFE friends.

I had the privilage of racing another g1. I got my *** kicked though. It was a lx 5spd with intake and exhaust, but i gave him a run for his money we were pretty much even until higher mph then he had the more power to pull away with the victory. Its ok I will race him agian when i get the bpt, but i am not going to tell him ..he he he.

if you want them, i have them ready to go and have been ready for awhile.

I am starting a new thread in "General" with the choices. Colors are also up for grabs, you can pick those too.
