Power Shifting Auto's?

Hi Ya'll,
Couldn't help but have a chuckle reading your posts. I'm new around here and am a proud owner of an '02 323 1.6A.
I have to agree that driving an auto sucks but not everyone at home can handle a manual tranny......
I've floored it in D plenty of times and yes, the tranny does work best left alone. However, what do you guys do when taking on tight turns and such. I usually turn of the overdrive (hold) and shift the tranny down to 2nd or even 1st depending on the tightness of the turn. THe car is definitely more stable driven as such but I'm really worried about killing the Transmission.
Any comments?
