Yeah I can see you have some good performance mods there.

But it's things like altezzas and neon glow that just (IMO) degrade the protege. I mean look at what they've done to CIbICz.

I'm just going to jump in here... If linuxninja has a FS-ZE (around 170 hp right?) he could definately hang with a WRX at highway speeds. They move like hell all the way up to 90 or 100, but any faster than that, and they aren't that quick unmodded. I dunno if it's the turbo, or what.

They are NOT highway racers. I hang out on Maxima.org a lot, and a lot of 4th gen (95-99 190hp 3.0l) maxima's have beat WRXs on the highway. Sure, they don't have much chance from a stop, but Maxs have a nice, steady hp and torque curve all the way through the powerband (ahhhhh, V6ey goodness, hehe).

So yes, I belive the ninja himself could definately hang with a WRX. Plus if he was behind him the whole time, he had a lot less air resistance at those speeds

so true! Also, from reading the WRX Forums, they only pull from 1st - 3rd gear and 4th and 5th are crap. sooo... The ninja (in funkdaddy's words) could easily pull on one in top end. I think the WRX would give him a run through 3rd gear, but once he hits 4th, will get pulled on. Hell, I can pull on WRX's all day long from a 70mph roll in my accord. I just fear their launch from a stop hehhe

My friend ran 14.3 in the 1/4 mile in his STOCK WRX SEDAN. My other friend ran 14.7 in his NA modded GSR. The guy with the GSR told the guy with the WRX that he was faster because of the launch so they race from a rolling start from 20 mph to 100 mph. The WRX won by 1 car length. The WRX makes 170 wph, but they you CANNOT compare it to a FWD car people! It's like comparing apples and oranges! The WRX guy now run 13.0 sec at 103 mph with just intake/FULL exhaust including downpipe/UNICHIP/boos controller/15.5 psi boost (stock is 13.5). That is incrediable!

Just because you posted this crap, I am now going to beat on all MP3's and Protege5's that I come across in Las Vegas. You can all blame Linuxninja.

This guy must have a WRX, or something. People do not read carefully do they. There are many factors that attributed to what happened. Let's make it clear....MY CAR IS SLOWER than the WRX!!!

That right I have a WRX. I know for fact that you can't pull on a wrx on the highway. Also the WRX is actually a good handling car in the "twisties". You guys talk like the cruve in the freeway is a ******* race track, wtf is wrong with you all.

The biggest factor that I see is that the driver of the WRX wasn't trying. So what are you going to use as a come back, power to wieght, the WRX has crappy gears, cause I'm just curious.
My friend has a Honda Civic coupe with a GSR motor, headers, cai, complete exhaust, cam timing sprockets, and underdrive pullies.
He also has a Prelude and nither of his cars can pull on me at 60,70,80mph ect on the highway. My car is stock except for a Gfb bov and I wiegh 260lbs. The WRX is by no means a really fast car but at least make your story beliveable. Go and drive a WRX for yourself and see if he was really trying. So many people post negitively about cars they have never driven.

I not going to talk **** about the Protege MP3 or the P5 as I think they are nice cars. I was going to get a MP3 and turbo it because of all the **** it come with(super bang for the buck),but the dealer sold out. Since I could afford a WRX I got one instead.

Oh by the way I think this story is full of ****.

You aren't the only one who thinks his story is full of shti. Lets be serious. I don't have a WRX, but I surely know what they can do. I have a protege and if I was to race a WRX in a 1/4 mile with a 2-3second lead I'll still lose. When I see WRXs on the road i just f#ck with them to see how fast they take off or leave me. The only slight chance I think anyone Protege has in beating a WRX is with a Turbo. No hard feelings though, but I don't think he was trying.

I am not going to take sides

I am not going to call Linux a liar.

I am a fellow Mazda owner and love the cars because of the styling and potential that is there for an unbelievable street machine. (read: handling, styling, performance, etc)

My best friend has a WRX. I drove the car when it was stock. Nice. Good launch and the speedo will climb quickly.

He has since added a Blitz Boost Controller, Tanabe (sp) turbo-back exhaust, AEM CAI, and too many suspension mods to mention.

The car hauls some serious @$$.

Each and every car has a feature or something that we can find an attribute.

Everyone who posts on a message board for a respective car make/model shares a commond bond. The love of the automobile. Whether it be Mazda, Subaru, Honda, etc.

Instead of bashing each other take pleasure in sharing ideas and stories with your "friends"

Once again, read carefully. I did not claim any superhuman feats against the WRX, I just told what happened one morning on the way home from work. Where was I at most of the time...behind the WRX!!! I am not a phsychic, so I do not know what the other guy was thinking. I HAVE drove a WRX. They are fast. I hear folks talking about me getting murdered from the starting line. NO ****!!! We were on the highway, and I stayed on his ***, and did not pull on him till the corner!!! Stop taking part of my account of the incident, and posting uninfomred posts! I just....you know what...***** it!

Kind of Off Topic but

under your screen name on this board and another it says Future Serpent Killa. What exactly does that mean, Linux?
