I got my *** handed to me on a platinum plater , by a civic hatchback , maybe a 95 or 94 the egg shape, it had a vtec in it 1.8L gsr, how did I know , cause i heard the damn thing kicking over my damn audio system playing loud as hell and quikly saw nothing but his damn tail lights ,, his tires did look pretty broad from behind, but that is another story ,
I haded a 2002 civic ex his *** the other day , froma stop light run ,, dead even in 1st gear, and handed it to him in 2nd gear.. it was hilarious .lol ,, he did not want anymore after that, .... I really need that 1.8L though
Bruce
I raced a 1.8L Protege (new one) a while back, it was modded it stayed dead even with my stock 93 accord LX motor which is actually pretty good cause the accord is no slouch. Yea the SOHC vtec's are a joke on the 96+ civics, but watch out for the d16z6 on the 92-95 Si hatches and EX coupes..they will ruin your day quickly

actually i raced one the other day, i think his is a 96. HE got me in the higher RPMs, I forgot i left my bottle off, lol. I was wondering why he won for a while

my car has stock ride hieght, stock emblems, no window tint, no even a real "intake", hehe, you can even look at the engine, its stock

but youd die laughing when you see guys with Si's and V6 Camaros get beat by a wagon, i know i do

yeah we have a 91 ex sedan and a 99 es-L sedan also , they both can haul ***, I really do want to get that 1.8L either that or have to install a set of ground cams in this 1.5L cause it needs some more power, desperatly

Yup, NOS is fun. However I am not a huge fan of it, its somewhat cheating, but to each his own. I have more respect for the guy with the built up NA that beat the Turbo car rather than the guy who sprayed to beat em, ya know? But NOS is truley fun when spanking cars who are faster.

some people go NA, some go Turbo, some go blown, I like to spray

the new civics are a LITTLE faster than the stock 2.0 Pro's, i know this personally , it may depend on the driver

thats true to each his own. the new civic Vtecs are 1.7L SOHC Vtec's, they are "Decent". I had one spray and just barely stay at my bumper.

and its a 1.5L DOHC right? wow Mazda is behind the times for more HP do headers, then cams, cams wont do much if the air isn't going out as quick as its coming in. Intake/Header/Exhaust is first setup on all 4 cylinder cars. Then ofcourse you get into pulley's,cams, etc. The only way spark plug wires is gonna make a dramatic difference is if your are going from Old torn up spark plug wires to new..Or you are upgrading plugs also. Your car looks awesome with that front end, is that stock? I like the look of that body style a lot How much is the 1.8L DOHC swap btw?

no that is jspec , mazdaspeed front end , I am trying to get my hands on the side skirts, also , the 1.8L swap would only cost me the price of the motor and the tranny and other trincates, as I will be installing it myself
