does anyone know what they run in the 1/4 stock? i ran one this weekend in my se-r and won, but i think the guy grinded 2nd.... because i ate him by like 3 cars..... but my se-r should run a 15.4 or so depending.... and i got a DAMN good launch (first ever 5k drop that caught perfect traction)

im trying to figure out if i should go ahead with a rematch this weekend for some cash, or not... anyone wanna do a little comparo for me

1993 SE-R
2400lbs
122whp/120tq or so at the wheels
15.3-15.5 1/4mile stock
my car is low miles, and running good

also the new Si... that might be a car to try racin... they are SLOOOOOOWWWW, i absolutely killed one 3 times in a row this weekend, i yell pathetic, pathetic i tell you honda didnt do very good on the newer Si, i still do like the 99/00 Si somewhat, i wish i could drive one sometime (never had a chance).

I don't doubt that you beat his ***, cause the ser that you have has maybe like 10 fewer hp , and with some simple mods you are flying by them easily ,, I know the si's run like 15's in the quater all day , that jap spec motor si is even faster...
Isn't your SER a 1.8
no replacement for displacement

not quoting everyone here..
but the Si (SiR in canada wher ei live) .. redline is at 8200. not 7600 as stated above my post. They comonly run anywhere from 15.2 - 15.7 (stock) depending on driver and all that other jazz.. and NO, canada did not get an automatic version of the b16a2 , only had automatics overseas...

hth..

i can beat a 99-00 Si w/ headers and intake all day
i know cuz me friend own one he's running 15.5 street tires.
i haven't tried timing my car but i smoked him about 4-5 times already but he never beat my 323....
i have 1.8 125 hp dohc w/ pacesetter headers, intake cone filter, stock maf, magnecore wires, stock exhaust system, i do have a muffler but it only changes the sound not the hp or torque.

about the dx that u have ahh.....no there's no way u can hang. SI's are fast for a stock cars. but give it a try.

I cant believe this one!

so you are telling me, that a 125 hp 323 with headers and a filter will beat an Si? so lets see, you are roughyl putting down 110hp to the wheels after its all said and done... and the Si is putting down 145 to the wheels STOCK.. the Si has better gearing than your 323 ... so unless he's a terrible driver, i dont believe this one bit!

i have own a 97 civic ex w/ 99 GSR 16,XXX miles engine and yes they r fast engines. And si's are fast cars except for the new hatch! i will run my car at the track on April 26 at sacramento raceway. and will post the time and car pic in here.....anyhow im a honda guy had honda since i was 16 just turn to mazda 6 months ago not cuz they look great or they're fast its just that i wanted to be different cuz everyone has civic. Any how when i swap my civic 92 cx hatch which weigh about 2,087 lbs put on a 95 civic ex engine vtec ( 127 hp, 109 trq i believe) i was killing si's right and left. 15.1 was my fastest time. But when i was done with my swap on a 323 w/ bp engine i couldn't belive it especially finding out it only produces 125 hp and weighs 2,200 lbs. even myself i dont believe it but yeah the 323 can pull. i take the si on my first and second but they will pull up on my 3rd gear almost at 7k rpm but still cant pass me he's just next to me (on my sidemirror) but i know if i use my 4th gear about 6K rpm he could catch up but then again my cars 1/4 mile is at 4th gear rite when i shift it.

i aint braggin about my car but **** even myself i cant believe it especially my engine only cost me $300 and the car is only $800.
if u wan t may be we can try it on ur car just for fun.

putting down 145 to the wheels STOCK..
AFAIK it makes only 130 to the wheels. In case the Si there is the same as the SiR here. Here it uses the EK body.

And no I don't think your First Gen can beat an Si unless its driver can't shift for ****.
