Question 4 the Video Gurus

Whats the best way to convert something from a .mov format to another format (mpg/avi/etc.) - and whats the best format to convert to... and a good editor for that.. and... umm.. ok.. that is all.

basically: my digi camera takes movies @ 3 sizes (small - 160x100? / medium - 320x200? / large - 640 x 480) - saves them in mov format

download a MOV to (insert media file here) converter. thats the easiest way. check out download.com and do a search for MOV converter.

another method is if your camera came with software to convert file formats.

I kind of have a similar question...Does anybody know what format the iPod video uses? I think its .MOV...I'm wondering becasue I'm getting one for x-mas and was wondering if any of you could suggest a good program to convert to that file format?

Also, do any of you guys know a good program for ripping DVD's?

Thanks.

EDIT:I think iPod video format is .MP4 or .AVI
