Freshly Painted 1st gen

The car is freshly painted. How does it look? Ignore the lack of grille...we're paint and customizing that on our own at the moment. It's a little darker red that I suspected it would be, but I think it looks GREAT. Of course, what's the first thing that happend when I drove it off the lot: I had to drive behind a dumptruck on the highway, and little specs of dirt hit the car. DOH! . It survived without a scratch though.

Anyways, what do you think?

New Paint Pics

Now for those rims...

the paint job looks good bro, but like the others mentioned, why didn't you paint the black bumper trim (and the mirrors)?? also, why aren't the passenger side AC vents painted red like the driver's side? i can't wait to get mine repainted, although i haven't decided on a color yet.

AJ's not on right now, so I'll cover for him.

We're probably going to take care of the black trim ourselves. These are kinda in-progress pictures. He hasn't got to the passenger-side vents yet.

The color really looks sweet in person. I'll probably be taking my Formula there after winter to have it painted. We took everyone's advice and did our own prep and it turned out very good for the price.

The right said A/C vents aren't painted because I din't want to screw up all 4 vents if it looked dumb. I'll get to that when I get another can of paint.

On the paint job, it looks different in different lightings too. In darker light, it's a candy color red, almost maroon. In brighter light it gets brighter. I know that kinda sounds like "wel duh, all paint does that" but this is different and hard to explain. It's Indy Red if anyone is intersted in this color.

It's called vinyl paint, you can get it from autozone

or you can be like david and use heat resistant paint, incase your interior is ever over 500 degrees
