I want to see how mine looks (the install) and see if it was done right, I am having these strange idle problems.

that may be why....I don't buy automatics, but I hear there is a difference in intakes between the two. If you can get some good detailed pics of yours I'll compare it t mine and see what we came up with. I'd also like to see your stock air box assembly to see if anything was removed that wasn't hooked back up. I bet it's a simple vaccuum line.

The stock airbox is long gone, I have an SRI now.

Yea, it was a vac line that was not plugged off. It does not stall anymore but the idle seems low...or rough. And the other day after I filled it with gas it would not idle at all. I had to put one foot on the gas and keep the revs up and left foot brake to get going.

hmm, sounds like what I was thinking. I'm not familair with the variations between the the mtx and atx, but I'll look at a friends atx protege and see what he has there. I wonder if there was an IAC motor/valve that wasn't reconnected or has come loose.

or the vaccuum box that was up by the throttle body inlet.. maybe one of those came loose by accident.. or something... maybe he just really messed up the MAF without knowing it too.. that puppy is sensitive...

MAF is not in backwards and we cleaned it out to perfection.

Is the intake pipe touching your brake master cylinder? You'll get a lot of vibration through the steering wheel if it is.

Not getting vibration thru the steering wheel, but I get alot thru the brake peddle so I guess it might be but...........

........what does that have to do with a rough idle?

No, there was an extra vac line that did not go anywhere. It was stalling all of the time until I plugged it off, now it only stuters when I fill the car up with gas (and on a very rare occasion).

Taking it to Mazda on Friday, they will sort it out I am sure.
