It might be interesting to know whether this remapping will affect fuel economy. In general, advancing the timing will improve fuel economy, but without knowing the maps in question there's no telling whether it actually advances the timing at highway cruise speeds or only at heavy throttle. If the timing change is only at heavy throttle -- the timing is retarded less when it's opened up -- then you'd get more power but little or no change in fuel economy. If the remapping advances the timing across the board, though, you would expect better fuel economy -- as long as you keep your lead foot under control!

What with fuel prices being what they are, I think some may hesitate to sign up for this reflashing because they're already paying enough for fuel. But mid-grade is only what, 5% more than regular, and high test is another 5% or so? If this reflashing manages to improve the fuel economy by a few percent, it might actually be a wash as net fuel expenses go.

Here in alabama we have 89octane mid-grade. That's what I ran and it was never a problem.

I wouldn't ever buy a performance modification hoping it'll return better economy. Just be pleasantly surprised if it does!

I'm in for sure. I've dying to get an mp3 ECU forever. This is the next best thing...actually it's probably the first best thing...

This is just a want to buy it thread ElDudo, not a group buy thread. Not to sound selfish or anything but I started this thread to try and find an MP3 ECU for my self. That is the point of a WTB thread. Good luck with the search though

We did have a thread going for a while for a service to get are ECU's reflashed to an MP3 map but it fell through, so we are back to looking for the rare MP3 ECU's as a unit. Here is the thread if you want to read up about it, might be kind of pointless at this point though:
