I waited FOREVER for somebody to want to sell the stock 6 disc changer.
Finally, I gave up and bought the "Mazda 6 disc AM/FM Cassette changer" brand new on eBay for $150 including shipping (thank you MiataForum!) and installed it in my Protege 5. I DID have to disassemble the face of the new and old units to swap out the green lighting for the red, but that was an easy problem to solve.
Looks and sounds great, and at $150, what's not to like!
