New sub with stock deck

So I've already got Kappas in the doors powered by a 4-chan amp located underneath my seat. I really like the quality, but it doesn't have the thump I initially wanted, so I'm thinking of getting a sub/amp. I want to keep as much trunk space as possible while using a 12" sub, so I'm thinking of an enclosure around 1.2 cu ft that'll fit well against the back right of the trunk. Right now I'm sorta leaning towards the Edesigns e12O.14, mostly because of you guys, but if the difference in sound quality between the O-series and the K-series is not really noticeable then I might stick to K (smaller box req's).

Anyway, couple of questions for you guys:
  • I've still got a stock deck that I don't wanna get rid of, so can I just splice into the signal wires again? So basically I'll have two amps running through the stock deck...is this ok?
  • How do the 12K.14 and the e12O.14 compare to an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12 or a JL Audio 12W3v2?
  • Should I go for a mono amp or a 2-chan amp and bridge both channels? What's a good amp to power a single e12O.14?
  • Would it be ok to use a 1 cu ft sealed enclosure for an O-series, even though they recommend a 1.5? I know I'll lose bass so would it even be worth going to the O-series if I don't wanna go above 1.2 cu ft?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions/help. Any comments would be appreciated and I would love to hear any suggestions for other subs. Basically the only ones I'm interested in are the Edesigns K and O-series as well as the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12 and the JL Audio 12W3v2.

I was half expecting a post from ya ledz.....what exactly is polyfill and why should I use it in my box? I've heard of it before and from what I remember it'sjust a material that deadens standing waves inside the box (so a lot less distortion). It doesn't make the effective volume of the enclosure larger does it?

So basically stick with the Edesign subs right? Sounds good to me, cuz as far as I'm concerned, they're equal or better quality for less $$$.

Thanks,
nsx

K another idea I dismissed but got brought back to my attention...is it better to go with the 12K.14 (SVC) or the 12K.44 (DVC)? I just want one sub so if I end up getting the DVC one I'd wire the coils in parallel and run whatever amp I get at 2 ohms, which will increase the power being sent through.

Is this a better idea than just sticking to the single 4-ohm sub or is it harder on the amp to run at 2 ohms instead of 4? Any suggestions on this question fellas?

Thanks for all the help up to now tho, I promise I'll have something to show for it eventually!

It is not really any harder on the amp as long as it is designed for it. If you get a SVC rated at 350RMS and an amp rated at 350rms@4 ohm (700@2ohm), the same sub as a DVC will probably be rated the same at 350 RMS. So the amp at 2 ohms might be a little much for the sub. Although it is alot easier to blow the speaker with too little power than too much power. Get the sub you want to go with, then match up an amp to it. My recommendation right now is:

The Edesign e12k.44 and the Avionixx AXA 500m (500x1@2ohm) for about $410 shipped. 3 year warranty on sub and 2 years on amp.
