Oh God, whatever you do, do NOT buy a newer Accord. Not only are they BUTTFUCK ugly, you could get a better value with an Altima 3.5SE, Spec-V, Maxima, Protege(5), Mazda6, or a number of other cars!!

Actually, I think he could be better off with the new Accord, everyone is praising how good the new model is, and yes the exterior of the car is very ugly, but so are the most of the new cars these days. Just read the latest Road and Track, and Mazda6 lost to the new Accord by very little, but none the less. Accord is much nicer inside, it has the same engine (power wise) as Altima, but Accord was not nearly as sporty as the 6, and I am sure it comes with the same quality as all Accords always had. Anyhow, my point is, don't judge the book by its cover, because it is a nice book, if you look at it a lot closer.

i will have to agree with you guys on this one. the accord is nice. my dad just got one for himself after he got rear ended. the thing is gigantic on the inside. we checked out the altima as well... umm... no thanks. has anyone been inside the altima? yuck! and those seats! we would have gotten the mazda 6, since we would have gotten a sweet deal on it, but my dad found out it was a ford-based powerplant and stuck with honda because of it. all i can say is... at least the accord is not a camry... now that's one ugly car.

Your dad was a little biased there. Mazda made that engine from ground up, and Ford simply uses it in their cars. Ford knows that they have cappy engines, thats why they specifically asked Mazda to design the new 2.3 and 3.0 engines. However, your dad has a great car now!

i have to admit, my dad is biased against ford. he refers to them as the "found on road, dead" motor company or "fix or repair daily" motor company. but he has good reason! his friend's 96 windstar's motor started leaking oil and couldn't be fixed unless he spent mega bucks on it. my neighbor's '98 F-150 had weather sealing issues... his wife's explorer had a fuel injection problem... then my best friend's little brother's focus has been in the shop so many times, it's not even funny. back in the day, he had a mercury capri, and it, too, died after 7 years of ownership. it's been the only car we have ever owned that just simply "died." the rest we either sold because it was too old or got rid of because of an accident. my mom's '89 camry has 225,000 miles on it and is still going strong. the interior is beat up, but the engine can go for another few tens of thousands of miles. i say coincidence, he says found on road dead.
