Well, I dont know Mitch, but it doesnt sound to me like he is hooking anybody up exactly by trying to push worthless splash guards off on people.

stop me if i'm wrong,

but we have six now. i said we need 8 more. 8+6=14??? i'm pretty sure the math is right. i'm just at a loss as you are as to who will be taking the first 4. and let's see if we can renegotiate with mitch. if it comes down to it, i'm pretty sure he won't hesitate on selling the first 4 without a splash guard, especially if he's going to be losing out on 10 people's business. if not, then there's always ptuning!

Sorry I haven't replyed...I was just waiting to see where we were getting the intakes from (PTuning/Mitch).

Mp3: did you by chance ask Mitch about shipping to Canada?

I'm still interested in getting one without splash guard only if the price is $203 (US) shipped or less. As for a second intake...the other purchaser is still waiting until everything is finalized until he decides.

i have just asked him and i will keep you posted on his response, however i have a feeling its going to be more than 203. more and more i keep going back to ptuning. there its guarenteed 203 or less, and to do that we only need a couple more people. pretty soon im gonna start pulling over people in p5s and 2.0s on the street!

Ok, i have spoken to mitch and he confirmed that we need 14 to get the good price. he also told me to have two shipped to canada (same location) it would cost 15$ extra. i know and understand why he is charging more, but im cheap. and all we need is 02silvrbullet and ja_rho2.0 to say yes and we are in business. i dunno this becoming more of a pain in the *** than i thought it would be

Thumbs up

i have just heard back from a guy that i had been dealing with in the begininng. he says that the 195 price is good for as many as we want, over 5, which we have

i have asked him about canada, and what needs done to complete this and hopefully he will respond soon and i can set all this up once and for all.

i know i will be purchasing a bypass valve from mitch after i get this, does anybody else want me to ask him about a group buy on that??

what do you mean i edited my post after you posted? i edited my post at 7:11. you posted your reply to me at 7:16. and the only thing i edited was the little "i'm with stupid" icon cause it work the first time and was just text.

anyway, whatever... small potatoes. well, we tried to hook it up with mitch, but in the end, if it is more costly for us to go with him, then we have to look elsewhere. sure, it would have been great to help him out, but at the same time, 4 of us would have gotten shafted with an unwanted splash guard. that, and we need soooo many more people. like you said, this is becoming more of a hassle than anything. i think we should just keep it simple and go with whoever is cheapest, offers the most incentives, and least amount of people to qualify for the group buy. whoever that first person is (i'm assuming ptuning.com) let's make it happen with them.
i'm checking my balance as we speak. oh, and you did say this was going to be mailed to individual addresses, no? so can we individually call them up, so long as you give them the list of people who are supposed to be calling to get the price, or are we going to have to pool the money?

as far i as know it is legal, if you even think its not, just hang onto your stock airbox and replace it when you go to get tested! and its not too late so you have been added to my list

tonka:
i dont know what happened with that post then, because when i first read it the last sentence wasnt there. oh well.
this is going to individual address, and they (ptuning) want me to pool the money.
you guys would mail me a money order or cashiers check made out to them in the final amount, which i should have in a day or so, then once i recieve all of the checks i will send them out together.

i have thought about this and this is what im going to do. tomorrow morning im going to tell my guy i have 10 people. i will then post all of the relevent information. as of last check we have 8, with one pending. i will purchase any left overs from the ten and sell them on ebay or something. i will sell them at the same group buy price, so im not going to make any money off them, unless some idiot decides to bid it up. This way everyone can get their intake, and we can be done with it. but i will give lurkers until tomorrow morning to say they want in before i place the order for 10. i will still be checking this thread pretty much all night tonight and tomorrow morning. if anybody wants to add or drop: PLEASE LET ME KNOW NOW

If we all go together for the group buy through Mitch it would only be 207 each.

It breaks down like this, the first four CAI at 240 is 960. Then, the next ten at 195 is 1950. Together they add up to 2910. If we divide that number by everyone (14), we end up at 207 each. This way, everyone pays the same price and money should be money to Mitch.

That isn't too bad for a CAI and a splash guard. Plus we would be supporting a dealer who put his neck out on the line for Mazda tuners.

Food for thought. I still want a CAI regardless of who we buy from

i know and i totally see your point, and mitch is a good guy, but only the first four get the splash guards. also three of the four are colors, which he is offering at 252 a piece, so thats an extra 36, divided by 14 is 3$. so it would be 210 a piece, with only 4 splash guards. i think im just going to go elsewhere for the CAI but still by the bypass valve from him, no matter the price, sorry dude, but i just dont want a splash guard, and he knows that which is why he is selling them that way.
