my guy has 55 of these left they are $200 and are the japan spec intake cam for the protege 2.0l, the exhaust cams are all gone sorry- chris @ spd

 

Chris, I dunno that much about the J-spec cam--realistically, what kind of gain?
My only engine mod right now is the SRI I got from you, but I'm hoping to get my hands on an MP3 ECU this month, which I assume would help somewhat.

 

actually CORKSPORT posted some dyno's and it was the only sizeable gain besides a header...like 7-9whp

and which cam would be more beneficial, the intake or the exhaust? i can't remember. one of them was supposedly pretty conservative and the other was more than enough for our engine's flow characteristics.

 

according to 'twilightspeed" the intake cam (stock) inhales plenty...while the exhaust is sub-par. If this were the case then people wouldn't get such impressive gains from just the intake cam alone...

I think it would be fine to just put in the intake cam but don't expect massive gains. talk to Topher and Phantom, they use both ....
