FS-ZE rally engine for sale
This engine started life as an FSZE. We milled the head, took the butterflies out of the intake (still have if you want to re-install), freshened everything up, and put a 5-angle competition valve job on it. The C/R is 11.5:1. Cams are Mazdaspeed/Sunbelt with Sunbelt adj. pulleys. Racing valve springs with titanium retainers.
When we built the next one, we pulled this one out and put it in the corner. Now I need the space and don't need the engine. I will sell it with the Fluidyne oil cooler and Aeroquip hoses/filter adapter plate and the Magnecor competition wires. It comes with a lightened (machined down stock) flywheel. No header or exh. manifold.
The engine has 7 and a half rallies on it. About 110 competition miles per rally. It was NEVER stressed as I used the stock ECU that limited it to 6500 rpm. Changed the oil and filter after every event and it burns no oil.
This is a very streetable engine. With the stock US Protege ECU it will yield about 170 hp...I got 136 at the wheels with a stock airbox/K&N panel filter. With a J-spec computer and harness, this will be a 200+hp engine. It took me to 2nd place in the Group 2 SCCA ProRally National Championship last year and 2nd for the Woodner Cup (Overall 2wd driver championship). Oh yeah...it sounds great!

PS...This engine has always run on Sunoco GT100 unleaded race fuel. I don't know if it will run okay on pump gas or not...never tried since my spec fuel is GT100.
