90 Lx 1.8l Dohc Being Parted

I've made the decision. I'm not going to fix up the car. Time to part it out. The car is loaded: pw, pl, sun roof, cruise, tilt, pm, etc. The only parts that won't go are the ones that'll work on my Escort GT (i.e. brake system, engine (bad but good parts on it), and tranny). The lights seem to be in good shape except for the headlights, which have yellowed. The speedo didn't work when I got the car, but I'm thinking the cables broke (140,000mi). There is some body damage on both sides. The car is silverish grey with a (tan?) interior. The interior is in a little rough condition, but there are still some good parts.

Let me know what you're interested in and I can provide a pic and price. I live in Virginia Beach, VA. I don't really want to ship really large items due to the hassle, but may consider. Thanks.

Bill,

What colour is it? If it's white, I'll take the door mirrors...
They are silver and really need repainted because on one the paint is worn off the top.

Struts are stock junk (140,000mi and I don't think they were changed), no spoiler, power windows are good. What all do you need with the power windows? They are all factory, so you would probably need the stock pw wiring harness already installed.

I need your power doorlock relay. It should be located somewhere near the clutch pedal under the car. It controls the locking and unlocking of the locks.

Also your rear power window switch on the drivers side.....hell i'll buy the window motor too (my window never worked...don't know what it is).

Let me know if you'd part out those parts
Sure will. I'll have to search for the relay. Do you know what it looks like? I have an Escort service manual, but not the Protege one (even though most stuff is the same). The switch and motor are good. I'll get back with you on the price or make me a good offer (you pay shipping or take a vacation down to Va Beach and come to my house and get it (then maybe you'll want more stuff hehe). Thanks. Let me know if you're for sure.

You can unscrew the whole thing by undoing a philips head screw that you get to from a hole in the bottom of the housing. the whole mirro should come out after you unscrew that.

also, if your drivers side one is solid, i'd take that one too (for my other car).

Also, i might want your corner lenses.. (i can use them as guinea pigs for clear corners ).

you said the interior is tan right? how is the center console? (just the part that has the cup holder cubby) Any scratches? i might want that since my cubby door is partially busted.

Another part i might want...your stock intake hose, would you part that out? (if its not cut or cracked?)

you said your headlights are yellow...is it just one or both? i need a clear headlight from the passenger side (with brackets). My white cars headlight bracket is busted and it just sorta flops around in place.

are the windsheild wiper arms rusted at all (the spring or anything like that?) i might want those too if they are in good enough condition
Yes, the power mirrors work, and I think they are tight (I'll look when I get home). They do need some paint. I don't know if all Pro's have the blue tinted mirrors, but these are (kind of nice).

Corner (front I assume) lens' are good (I'll make sure).

The console (I'll check that too).

Stock intake hose (That's a spare for the Escort (they are hard to come by (in good shape)).

Both headlights are yellowed, and I'm not sure how the buckets are. They don't move around, but I'm not sure if anything is broken. The car previously had front end damage.

Wiper arms are rusted, but could be cleaned up with a wire brush and a little paint (that's what I did with the Escort's).

If you want, I can email some pics to you later.

I don't know how much to offer....hrmm......$15 shipped for the relay? i dont know how much a power window motor and switch are worth.....

do you have paypal?
Cool, once we figure out what all you want, I guess we'll figure a price for everything. I'm not trying to make a fortune, just recoup some of my cost. It'll be cheaper than a junk yard.

Yeah, but never "received" a payment before. I don't know, can you receive a payment with the "free" paypal??

Ok, just got home.

Mirrors are pretty tight (barely moved, never noticed any movement when I drove it to my house a month ago.

corner lights - left is great, right has a very small star crack from a rock (doesn't look bad at all).

console - great shape, just dirty (the guy used the car as an ashtray. But I really can't tell the color. It's either grey or a real light tan. Someone help me here, did the silver pro's have a tan or grey interior?

headlights - yellowed, would have to look real hard to see bucket condition.

Wiper arms - partially rusted/faded, but as I said above, should be able to wire brush and paint.

Again, let me know if you need some pics.

Ok, I've put the pictures up on here

http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/ysrpilot (if it says it's not available, try a few more times because Yahoo is acting up)(also if it says that you have reached a restricted area, keep trying, because Yahoo must really be jacked)

If anyone is interested in anything else and needs a pic, let me know and give me a little time to put it up. Thanks.

I'm interested in the instrument cluster, the cluster trim (black peices where all the switches, vents and clock go) both peices (driver and passenger side) the radio trim peice, trunk panels and maybe a few switches...please let me know the condition of the parts.

Oh, How is the condition of the sunroof panel? Mine is horrible and i desperately need one....

also, would you be willing to ship to Calif?

I'll look, but I think all of the dash trim pieces are good.

Guages are good, speedo has 140,000 mi and some change, and wasn't working when I got the car. I'm thinking speedo cable, but not 100% sure.

Trunk panels (some are pretty bad) are a little big to ship.

What switches?

sunroof is rusted and not worth a damn

yes, you pay shipping

I can get you pics

ok then, well whats your price for just the cluster and cluster trim peices? I imagine shipping (USPS) would be about $7-8 Priority with insurance. (zip 92647)

Forgot i got a switch a few months back... and ya, the trunk peices would be too much hassle

Thanks.

When I get home from work today, I'll take a look and get back with you.

You want the cluster, trim around the cluster (which includes vents), trim around radio, and vent piece on passenger side, right?
