Yet another reason why I hate Honda

From reading these happenings, this is yet another reason why I don't plan on owning a Honda.

It all is really pretty sad, but im posting this here to support, and make people aware of this, as other people are doing on various other forums. If any of you get time, post it on another forum that hasnt been posted on. Also read the whole discussion over there. And finally, if you can spare some time, call honda (info provided there).

I do not understand why this is a direct reason to hate Honda. Any company in this country would have done exactly the same thing. It was very unfortunate for the guy, even more for the company he worked for, but you have to watch what you say. I personally do not have anything against Honda, though I hate the people that make them look so... how can I say this - UGLY!

Other car companies do not do the same things. You see spy shots of new cars in magazines all the time, even hear the specs about them a year before they're produced. The fact that the people at Honda didn't make anyone touring the plant sign any waivers or anything really pisses me off. I'm no lawyer or anything, but it doesn't take anything more than common sense to tell you Honda did something really shady. You might not have anything against Honda, but I now do, and I think a lot of people are with me.

The amount of forums that this thread has made it to is incredible. I'm an Admin over at PT, and I can promise you all it's all very true. The situation sucks a lot, but there's nothing he can do at this point. I'm amazed by the amount of support he's received from all corners of the net though. I'm also amazed that one post on ProbeTalk reached Honda's lawyers.

Big Brother is watching... don't let them tell you otherwise.

i crashed my c-rx twice! that'll teach 'em!
if i still had it i'd crash it again

i have to wonder at the legality of what happened there. sounds more like strong-arm tactics (ie sack him or you'll never get our business again) than a legal solution to me.

eyes open everyone

That's exactly what it was. When given the choice between a major client and an employee, the company has to choose the client.

geez, if that happened here in nz, there'd be an unfair dismissal case with a payout that would set him up for life. its not like honda could defend it in court now is it? although i'm sure they'd probably try.

umm well,

#1 its the guys fault for not haveing common sense
#2 Honda is a good company which makes good quality cars (you can't argue this)
#3 ANY COMPANY anywhere would of done the same thing, Company secrets are to REMAIN company secrets. i think everyone knows this
#4 if i were him i woulda kept my mouth shut because i have been in alot of companies buildings (server rooms mainly) and i know their info is secret and is kept secret with the use of deadly force.
#5 that is BS that you blame a company for trying to keep its secrets. competition is competition, you don't screw around with big companies or they will make you disapear
