Zoomgirl, just get a license frame that reads "This is not my husband's car".

Eitel, do you know where I can get one?

itzkcatz, I was thinking maybe getting a hood with something like the powerpuff girls painted on it. OK not really, but I bet he would NEVER drive it again.

Try here. They do custom frames. Never bought from them before, just found it in google.

I kind of have this same problem... I love to drive, no matter where my girlfriend and I go. I told her straight off, though, that I love to drive and that I have a need to. She understood, but I do let her drive at times as well (I don't hogg). I have my '90 Pro, and although I really don't let her drive it, it's more because she hasn't had a lot of experience with 5spds yet and my car needs a little work so I know it can experience a little aching so I can teach my girlfriend to drive a 5spd more often (because there's no way I'll own an automatic). She herself has an old Chevy car auto and I drive it around.
Something I may reccommend to you, Zoomgirl, is to be straight with your guy. I'm a terrible backseat driver (it's my mom's fault) and I have a tendency to tell the driver how to drive. My girlfriend confronted me on this and told me it was rather annoying. I've stopped since, and I didn't mind her telling me to basically SHUTUP when she drives because, hey.. She's driving, I'm not. Also, I love her and I respect her wishes. I'm sure your husband will do the same. Peace!

Oh my God, there really is a place to get them. I was just kidding! Thank you. I may actually consider it.

Sirfei, The bad part is that I have had the talk so many times with my old civic and this car. I honestly beleive he doesn't know he's doing it. He's getting better about some things. It's just that he drives it so much it's hard to explain to people it is not his. Maybe part of the problem is other people also. You know, most of the time even if we go somewhere and John, my husband gets out of the passenger seat and I get out of the driver's seat. people will try to talk to HIM about the car. It's ironic that guys sre like, "Girl with car, cool." but they don't usually show the girl the respect if she's with a guy.

I can see where you're coming from, Zoomgirl. Got a nice ride and you like to drive it I can't say the same about my girlfriend's somewhat beatup Chevy cavalier. I've wanted to work on her car for her and add more horsepower and stereo, but she isn't into that kind of thing (which is okay with me). She has many more other greater qualities that I love her for.
I think probably one of the best opinions you've gotten so far is possibly to get "girlpower" icons, graphics and whatnot put on your Pro5. He'll be less to invite it's his, nor will other people think that the car is your husband's. Good luck!

I always drive my car, and when we need to take my girlfriend's car out somewhere (usually cause mine was just washed and it's raining) I drive. It's a thing with me. I feel like such a chump if my girlfriend drives me around. Like, I can't support myself or something like that, and she's cool with me driving us around in her car. 99.9% of the time though, we cruise around in my ride because it's RED and is much better.

I've only sat in my passenger seat twice. Once when my girlfriend had to drive me home because I was too drunk (drinking and driving is ******* stupid) and the other because I sprained my ankle at work and my Dad had to drive my car home.

Same thing with me. If I wash my car and it rains I dont drive. And if we take her car, I have to drive because I feel like a dumbass, like if I dont have a car or my car is a piece of crap and I dont want to drive it. My ex scared the hell out of me when driving when switching lanes she always looks back and that scares me.

those of you that MUST drive when going out in your gf's cars seems to have very little faith in your gf's driving skills......

.... is that a good thing?....

I can honestly say that is not the issue here. I can definately drive the hell out of my car. I think it's more like the feeling like a chump thing. If you guys saw a pretty nice car and there was a girl driving it, would you think it was his or think, "that guy's a chump!"? I was just curious. It seems like when we went to that show last month, he was cool with sitting in the passenger seat. He said it was nice not to have to worry about his car. So what changes when we get home???? Although, he has gotten better lately.

By the way, the new development is we are selling the celica pos and he is getting a new pos to drive around. At least that is the plan.

I just don't under stand, what is so wrong with cruising around in a nice car, as long as people, like your friends, know you have your own at home? I guess it might be different if your wife/girl doesn't like to work on her car, but if you both have kick *** cars, isn't that cool? Guys always say they love girls who love cars, but then they change the rules. When you have a girl that does things most girls don't, isn't that a good thing. Wait, that could definately be taken the wrong way! Or is it the right way, Oh nevermind you know what I mean.

Ome Hawaiian, Yeah maybe that's the problem

Just to let you know it doesn't always work like that.....I bought MY '03 Green Mica Protege. Its in my name, I did the financing, I am the one researching the mods to come....but when the wife says shes driving......thats just the way it goes. If you and your man dont work out how to share cars, it may not be meant to be. Especially if he cant figure out what it means to you.

People love their cars, but do they love them more than people?
