yeah, i have been on this sight from the start of it, and in its hay day protegeclub was the ****, we had hundreds of active members, place was striving, but then the little problems occured, alot of downtime, no support from the owner, alot of drama ****, then people found out that the owner was an rx7 owner, and the roumers started flying, people take **** that happines on internet car forums to heart.

now roddimmus i commend the work you have done to the forum, the effort, the dedication, and to be honest you being the main player is the only reason im still here, when jason or whatever his name is was the admin, people hated him, he banned anything and everything clubprotege, if you put clubprotege in a sentense he would change it to protegeclub, you pretty much had to try and fix what they fucked up, and by them not caring, it spawned clubprotege.

protegeclub will come around again, when clubprotege opened for business their was zero traffic here, its picking up again slowly, its like when you get a new toy and you forget about all your old toys for a while, then you get bored of that one too, ya know.

My wagon is going Evo hunting once it's 100% WOMP'd!

Thanks GOLDPRO, I never understood the haters on either forum....I guess some people take things WAY too seriously. Ryan (owner) has an rx7 and owns an rx7 store....he also owns and runs rx8club and rx8store. His main focus is rotarys....nothing wrong with that. I agree there's not much of an active interest in growing this forum though. I guess he figures the protege is dead and the RX8 is growing...maybe more chance for growth/money focusing on it. Also, this forum pretty much runs itsself. I've never had any serious database work other than creating new forums and merging stuff....nothing out of the ordinary.

I was always trying to come up with special deals from vendors to offer here for our members....something unique that we'd have that no'one else would. Hoping to bring people over. One thing I didn't want to do is turn this into "my personal forum". It seems that there are only 3 vendors on this forum that are advertising anything though....me, SPD and ImportCarPlus. I don't want them to be a closed off place but vendors go where the traffic is.

Anyone have any ideas of how to grow the traffic??

Matty, if you were to give some small token away, where would the money to buy it actually come from?
Also, I don't think anything should be given away upon sign-up. I think after a certain number of posts (whoring not tolerated of course) 10? 25? 50?
Just signing up is not the point right? We want them to be active.
Once someone is in the habit of posting, they are more likely to remain active.

yeah people take things wayyyyyy to seriously, i mean **** its just a internet forum, lol i post in whatever forum has a topic that interests me, i could care less about what one it is. let **** in the past, stay in the past

as far as creating more traffic, thats gonna be tough because all the 3rd gens go to msprotege, and ALL the first gens go to clubprotege, that leaves the 5 people that own second gens, lol i mean dont get me wrong i love clubprotege, and i do post their more than any other forum, but damn its all first gens, and msprotege is ALL mazdaspeed owners, so i hate that place. but thats a whole diffrent story.

ill try and think of ways to increase traffic, but its not gonna be easy.

Hey, Hoss. Those Protegeclub.com decals we've been discussing for ever would help. Especially on some of the cars that tend to get some media exposure... (Phantomcruiser).

We could even throw a few of the decals on E-Bay just to get our name out there. They might not sell, but people looking for protege parts are at least going to see the name and address of our forum. It's cheap advertising if you think about it, and we would hit our target audience.

those are good ideas. I'm going to start putting a few of them in action.

Kargo, any type of giveaway would either be donated by another vendor or paid for by me I guess. I know I can get things like t-shirts, decals and stuff like that.

I'm going to get with Pro5 (david) and see what we can come up with for a few decals and we'll post a few pics on here for people. I remember starting the thread a while ago about this and it never really took off. Maybe we'll just do something on our own and see how it goes.

Hey guys, I'll definatly try to help out. As stated earlier about "young guns just getting their lisences"(or something along those lines) I'm one of them, but when I come on the computer, I check my mail, then come to this site. I admit I'm registered with msprotege and clubprotege, but I dont go there very often and I come here way more than any other because I like the mature, respectful, and laid-back atmosphere of this forum. Also, when questions are asked here, their may be small side tracking but in the end the questions are usually answered with what I find to be helpful responces, as apposed to other places, who may have more traffic, but dont always help the person out, they just bash them about asking a dumb question, or yell at you to use the search feature, even though they might have tried and couldnt find what they wanted.

As for getting people to come here, I think if we start to maybe redesign the site or get new features or anything with the site, send out monthly(or so) E-mails about these new things, or seomthing along those lines, becasue I think if periodic e-mails are sent, maybe it will bring some members who dont come here anymore, back to be more active. If I can think of anymore ideas, or you guy start to do something and need some people to help out, I'll be sure to post!
