Beware of the dreaded 4th bearing issue. I know a more than one person with a '99 that has never had a problem, but it's a pretty hot topic on Miata.net

Only the '99 and '00 drivers have any need to worry.

I originally got the Protege to save miles and insurance on the Mustang.

I drove the Mustang so rarely that I ended up letting it go. I sold the Mustang on Christmas Eve to a Kid that got his riced out SI stolen. He said he had over 6k in the Civic and his best 1/4 mile time was a 15.2, so he said he was kind of glad it was gone so he could get a fast car. The problem was he couldn't drive it at all. When he drove the Mustang he wouldn't take it out of the parking lot to test drive it because he was scared he would stall it. His mom drove it home when they bought it. He called me 30 minutes later asking how to get the keys out of the ignition when he stopped to get gas.

The other car now is my Wife's 2003 VW Passat GLS 1.8T Tip. I have been iching to chip it since we got it, but she doesn't want to until I get it as my daily driver in a year.

We use the Protege as out Beater and put all the miles on it.

If so, what is it?

(Of course I apologize profusely if this topic has been covered already.)

The sattelite was a badass car. Underpowered from the factory, but it was one of the lightest muscle cars and, in my opinion, had very high potential in the right hands.

Thats how I feel about the Pinto! It can hold any motor from a 2.0L to a 429SCJ. Can't beat that in a chasis less than 2400lbs.
