Not that many.... at least I hope not

I think it's more that if you got Joe Dirt, who's thinking, "All righty, I want a car that will make me look cool", he's very likely to buy a Honda/Acura.
My ex-manager doesn't know anything about cars, but wants to buy an overpriced Civic or Integra, just because they are popular around here. He's the type that likes stickers and windshield washer lights, so you know that riced-up Honda/Acura population will keep on growing hehe

If you want speed get a sports car, instead of spending thousands of dollars to make a slow car fast
Ok...its all good, I see where you are coming from now... and I agree, it isn't worth the money or anguish to build a slow car to be fast, when it still isn't as fast as a fast car stock :-)

Glad we got that straightened out ..... whew.....couldn't have said it better myself, which is why my MP5 is staying primarily stock, with a few exceptions

It isn't worth the money ???
and why do you have to make it fast ??
what's wrong with having a 1.8L with 125 horses..........so what..
a ******* mustang will kill me...........I could care less.........I don't race with everyone I see .....
One can spend money on suspention, as well as exterior and interior work to make the car look better and be more fun to drive..............not make it faster !!!!!!!!!
if you want a fast car buy a V8, not a 4 banger............

and Doulbe D, don't think that I am arguing and ****, I am just giving you guys my point of view, because very often everyone is concerned with speed, and there are many other things to a car than just power and speed...................

Well, I think the point people were making is that people build civics to look "fast" but don't have the ***** to back it up. I agree, everyone should be able to build a car to their liking without being a ricer. But where I live, it is a ricefest. Everylight a kid with a Cavalier or Neon, or civic for that matter, with a 2 ft tall aluminum GT-2 wing and 15" chrome rims thinks he is a racecar driver, revin his 4 cylinder, and having his monza tip fart the most awful sound in the world...this is all too common in my area. But I think if you are gonna build a car to look fast, and put racing seats and harness's in it, and a ton of gauges and a monster tach, then it should be able to back itself up....if not, you are just a POSER. IMHO....later.

I am behind you on that one 100% ...........!
that's why you smoke them at the light so you **** them off and they realize that the $400 wing and $800 bodykit doesn't make the car faster.........maybe next time they'll decide to invest some money on a turbo, but I doubt it.........

Oh yeah, I agree even more, because show cars were meant to go fast. You try to get away from the people viewing it as fast as you can, as to get a better score. woooo! People, not all cars were meant to be fast. My car sure as hell isn't fast, but imho it looks good. I'm trying to get a CF hood so my 1.6l insanely-slow car can look better. That's gonna cost me $600... does it make my car faster? not really. My rims cost me $830... I sure didn't expect them to add 100hp. I guess my car 'looks' faster than it is, since Mustangs and turbo 'teg GSR's rev on me at red lights now. Was my intention to make it 'look' fast, or look good? Eventually, I'd like it to be fast.. but can't I have it look good without someone calling me a poser, or a ricer because it looks decent? Street racing is retarded, and should be kept to a track anyway. Next time I see one of you run a *heads-up* race at the track... then you can have some room to speak. Until then... well, you know the rest

No, it is OK to put a CF hood on your car and big rims, and a loud exhaust, but when your car looks like a TOURING CAR and runs 18's at the track, you will get laughed at....IMHO, but if you don't care about getting laughed at, then it is all good...I don't discriminate, to each his own. Just voiced my opinion.....Later

I am pretty sure that we could go and argue about this for pages and pages...........with no final conclusion.......

at the end, for me, all that matters is how MY car looks, how fast MY car is, and was it worth the cash spent (MY cash).....
look at your own cars and make them the way you guys like...
some go fast, others go for the looks.........it doesn't really matter as long as YOU like it right ?
