I'm seriously going to quit this forum, I can't stand that word no more. Is there an annoying word that you can't stand? Well rice is it for me, gets mentioned soooo often that I can't take it no more. Why don't you people make it bold or put it in italics while you're at it.....

we have always had a strong unity in the protege community wheather here or on the egroups forum ,where it started, . The task of asking questions and answering questions is what causes this unity , the ability to interact with someone that has a similar interest as you do and also to recieve a few tips on moding a car helps to spread the love amongst us ..

I think that it is more a issue of people haiting a tackily modded car, . certain items like windsheild washer lights on a car that is fully primered , or older than dirt ,, tacky ... Also I would also figure that the association of to many body accesories on a car that makes it look just a little bit to extra , would be considered extra , or ricey by most people , but it depends , cause i could see a car and really know that it is riced up , but if the person hooked the car up in a clean way , with the work done properly and the paint job and such amneties on point , I will give him respect, ...

I'd agree, we all wanna look good to a certain extent... I mean just out of curiousity how many of us can honestly say we drive a total sleeper? last time i ever saw one of those was way back in 99 at the track... the guy smoked everyone and was laughin his head off after!!! =P

and on the note of "ricing", I dunno if this counts, but does anyone know if any company makes a custom fit sub-woofer box for the P5 yet? cuz i wanna get a sub but i don't wanna lose too much trunk space! my buddy got a custom box for his prelude SH (looks like a rice-mobile, but has also got the guts under the hood... he smoked my other friend's 300ZX) and yeah, his trunk is tiny, but since the box sits flush against the back of the rear seats he doesn't lose much space and it still sounds awesome! (2x12"ers)

 

That is an ignorant comment, because for
1) without civics or integra's, the import aftermarket would be nowhere near as large as it is now.
2) i have friends with civic's that will spank the **** outta any protege on this forum in a straight line of course (including Roger Foo's)
3) they are good looking car, just ashame that every 16 year old in america has one with vinyl, a superwing, and altezza taillights and 5" fart tip (that is what gives them a bad name)...then again..to each his own.


My previous car was a civic ek, had a B18C1 in it, with drag gen 2 turbo, stock internals, ran it at 6 lb of boost, it wasn't the fastest car in the world, but it was WAY faster than my MP5, even w/o the turbo. However, the MP5 is a very practical, fun car to drive. It isn't fast at all, so don't fool yourselves...but it is fun to drive. If I didn't have so many prob's with the civic breakin axles and riding like ***...i would still have it. But any car with that kinda mod's is gonna be unreliable...which is why i bought a practical car, hence my MP5.

All I am friggin saying is that their is a difference between a Ricer, and a dude with a nice civic....a mustang looking like a civic, def rice, but a civic that looks clean, and is fast...is not friggin rice.

Thats all....his comment was saying all civic's were ricers, that is like saying all the people on this forum are ricers, it is an ignorant comment not even worth the time we are spending arguing about it.

Also, WTF do I care about some RX-7 dudes talkin **** on civic's...that shouldn't even be an issue, but....how many people on this forum have an econobox car (protege) with body kit, big rims, 5" exhaust tips, vinyl stickers, windshield washer led's....I rest my case
