Vancouver's New Radio Station
Vancouver's New Radio Station
I dunno how many of you live in the lower mainland, but you can tell me (those who do) how sick and tired you are of the crappy *** radio stations we have? (ie z95, and z95, and also z95?)
ANYWAYS things have finally changed!!! If you're into the hiphop/r&b/rap scene, there is finally a new station out!
94.5 FM The Beat went on test about a week or so ago, and on March 4th, it goes live! Listen to this station, cuz it ROCKS hard... its about bloody time a station like this came!!

Yeah, finally!!! It's awesome
I'm listening to it almost as much as my cds now, which is pretty good.....
I went to their 'sneak peak' concert with Rascalz, Choclair, K-OS and Checkmate at Commodore......
About 700 people at least I'd say in that place, so it was packed! Very fun, two free drinks, and lots of good looking chicks
I guess you could call me a supporter

I gotta say, it's been a long time coming... I've always said that the next FM would have to be an Urban station. With FOX having to change their format since X-FM coming in, and Z going all pop, something had to happen!
But I'll wait until the regular format actually starts on the 4th. So far, I've found myself re-hearing a bunch of songs and I'm not too thrilled with that. I'll wait to see if they have some good programming. I'd like to see different shows catering to different styles/eras (ie. Morning Drive=Hits, Mid-Day=R&B/Soul, Rush Hour=Chart Countdown, Evening/Late Night=OLD SCHOOL!). I just don't want the repetativeness KUBE93 down in Seattle.

Keep in mind, right now, they are just putting CD's on, that are on rotate because its a Test.
But regardless I like the way they play OLD songs and New ones... I think its gonna be sweet!
