Stupid Virus

I HATE computer viruses. I came home today to find that my PC has one...yay...it isn't too serious I don't think, just a real pain in the ***. It's as if my user account won't load...so I have no settings, favorites, and accessing my files takes twice as long. Resets EVERYTHING upon restart, too. It sucks, I'll have to fix it. I hope it doesn't happen to any of you...

People who write viruses are a waste of skin.

Do you know which one you had?

OK I need some help here... XP wizards!! I need to access other user account files from another account, both administrators on the same PC. Is this possible? It keeps saying 'Access Denied'. I deleted one account, but kept the files. Now I can't see them...would reinstalling Windows help any? PLEASE HELP!

Hi... Do you know which virus you had? Knowing the name/type will help a lot in locating a solution for your problem...

In the meantime, try to use the Administrator account and password.

I spent a couple hours last night messing around with the admin. account and tools, and finally I got access to the lost files. I will just put the stuff I want on CDs, then format and reinstall Windows for a fresh start. I got some virus from a copy of Desktop Dyno 2000 from KaZaA.

Moral of the story: Don't trust KaZaA!
