MOFO RPC worm virus

**** RPC worm virus
Did any of you guys get that crazy worm virus?! I got infected with it, I have no idea how... Took me hours just to figure out it was a virus! The damn think kept shutting down my computer whenever I turned it on. It gives you 60 seconds to save your **** and exit before it turns your computer off. I'm lucky to have high speed i.net, so I was lucky enough to go to the microsoft website and download the patch in that little time. I managed to get rid of it, but I'm wondering if any of you have had problems with it. Here's some info for those that don't know: http:/us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=description&virus_k=100547

I went to microsoft earlier to download the patch and the ******* thing didn't install. I tried for over a friggin' hour! I don't know if it is every one trying to download it or what, but error messages kept popping up. **** you microsoft. My dad has an Apple IMac, the half a basketball with the flat widescreen. It's a screaming system with an awsome picture and APPLE users don't have to worry about *** wipes messing up their **** or hacking their computers. Maybe Gates will do something about it! His software is so vulnerable to attacks. The messed up thing about it, sorry trying to tone down language, is that it is infected just being online, and not via email attachments.

I work for a call centre supporting big *** clients NA wide. Man we got hit hard. Pc's were rebooting within 1 minute. Just look for msblast.exe in your processes under task manager, delete that. apply the ms patch for your specific operating system. update your virus definitions. if you can't find msblast.exe
goto your regedit. under hkey local machine/software/microsoft/windows/current version/run
look for windows auto update = msblast.exe

BTW.. My company didn't get a lick of it. It's called strong firewalling and full virus protection on every system allowed on the local subnet. Only systems that have caught viruses in the last 2-3 years were the laptops (and our new policy is **** them since they won't follow company virus scan and Windows update policies).

Good hackers love to compromise a Linux system and load a root kit on it (usually easier than a XP or 2003 Microsoft box because people misconfigure crap or leave it insecure). Microsoft just gets more of the script kiddies (don't have to hunt for targets as hard) and it is an easier place to spread a virus because of the large number of idiots using it.

I went to Microsoft.com and it failed to patch. I tried for 2 1/2 friggin' hours!! It kept saying cannot find internet server or something crazy! The patch has ETA for downloading 7 minutes, but **** wouldn't download. Any one else download or have problems downloading this piece of crap patch?

Sure but some are more secure than others, I've been using a Mac with OSX since the beginning and have yet to encounter any problems or viruses.
I used to use a PC but switched to a Mac 3 years ago, I don't mind PC hardware, I just hate Windows.
I also have a new G5 on the way
