quick quest.
Hey guys...well i had a 2k1 protege ES 2.0 but its automatic. (it wasnt my choice...i got the car as a good hand me down) I know not much can be done to an automatic's engine so i was wondering if its worth putting some money in the car?? (engine wise)...if so...what should i invest in??it's either that or just save money for a couple of years...or more, and buy whatever new special edition protege mazda comes out with. the MP3 was nice...and the MazdaSpeed kix ***...anyone know what's the next one coming out??
thanks guys...peace

There are always 2 roads to go down when modding your car. First is the Performance road "Engine, Suspension, transmission, areodynamic, and those types of things" and then there is the Audio Video road. A lot of people go down both roads and end up with a kick @$$ car. IMO though I think that with an automatic you will never reach the potential of a 5 speed equiped car. My suggestion is if you cant beat them in a drag make it so they at least want to ride with you in your car. I would spend my money getting a great sound system, wheels, tinted windows and stuff like that. thats my opinion. Hey and if you have an extra few bucks get a 50 shot NX wet kit for once and a while fun.
P.S. there is a third side road that leads you to a dealership. I like this road alot

Thanks yeah that sounds reasonable. I was thinking of doing a lot of aesthetically pleasing mods. Like you said, wheels, body kit...things like that. Also i'll go for the interior like a sound system. I mean....maybe in the future if i buy a new car, i can take some of those things and put em in the new car. Thanks again
