Question please help me decide

please help me decide:

which one should i do- lower my (1997) protege or get new rims. if i get it lowered i would get adjustible springs and it would cost about $400 all together, or i could get the new rims which would be around $700 (with tire). no matter which one i do first i will most likely end up doing the other but it will take me a few months to do and maybe the whole summer (being 16). by the way i have about $300 saved right now for it.
-thanks

what are your goals? Also, this could be moved to the Wheels/Suspension section and get more visibility.

I would say springs then rims....it's what I did.
