Behold the dichotomous wonder of cheese. Brings so much flavor, but so much constipation.

2008 CTS is a dream! was followed by one the other day. the pictures on the internet made me excited but a bit hesitant, but seeing it in person really made a difference. still looks nose-heavy but quite the beauty!

heeding the wisdom of parents is a good thing, trust me. there is more to life than what easily comes to mind.

hmm, now i am curious...how so?

staying roughly on topic:

i miss Oregon (where i'm from).

so it looks like i'll have to either swap gears or get proper fitting/sized yet correctly ratioed custom gears made so that the renesis-ms3 tranny combo will work (cuz rx-8 gears are 20-21% lower than the ms3's) when i custom mount the combo into my car. see, i needed a fwd only tranny that would take the increased torque of the renesis over my stock manual hopefully the ms3 unit won't weigh too much more than my stock one and therefore negate the weight savings of switching to a lighter engine..................

this of course is a day dream, but who cares. maybe i like my car too much...

If you're going to go renesis and 6-spd why stay FWD? (I'm guessing that is the plan since you're thinkin MS3 tranny instead of just the RX-8 one)

well, it comes down to a hassle debate...like either one is necessarily easier:
the fwd route lets me not have to, in theory in my mind, modify the center tunnel to accomodate a drive shaft and exhaust, not to mention probable firewall surgery to get that long (and it is long) 6 spd tranny to fit.

the rwd would be ultimate because, well, it's rwd. i wish mazda sold the awd second gens over here like they did elsewhere.

the whole goal in my mind would be to have a sleeper aside from 17s and standard drop. the interior would be completely stock looking save for maybe an rx-8-accurate h-pattern shifter (black of course). though i'd want to get a different tach (but no add on....).

obviously if i had money to burn, this would be interesting. otherwise it remains just a nice thought to dream about and humor myself (and others) because of its absurdity and hassle (get that setup legalized? sheeyewt). the inevitable question "why don't you buy something else?" would come up. then i would probably want to get an rx-8. again, thanks nearly non-existent 2gen aftermarket. maybe i should just pioneer that stuff.

that resident evil movie looked interesting. is it a big shoot 'em up or is there more to the plot?
