'My Wife' or 'The Wife' ?
Anybody else find it kinda rude when people refer to their significant others as 'the wife' / 'the girlfriend' / 'the fiance' ?
Depending on the conversation, I'll refer to my fiance either as 'my fiance' or her name if people know her already.
Ladies? How do you like to be referred to as?

Hi Jason
Have not met your fiance yet, maybe in a couple of weeks.
I normally say "my wife, Rosanne" and use her name from then on. I agree that it does sound kinda rude calling your wife "wife/the wife". I used to work with a guy who always referred to his wife as "my wife". What is really strange is that we have met her many times and even baby sat her kids once already. Go figure.

You know, it really depends on the context.
When I'm talking to the guys and they want to do something fun and I can't cause I know I'll get a **** storm when I get home, I usually use "the wife" when I'm stating my reason.
When I'm relating to someone what a great person she is, it's always, "My wife, <insert name>,"
And as you can see... the wife does not like her name posted on the Internet
