MPEG to CD

I downloaded a few music videos and one or two of them are in AVI format.

Do I have to change them to MPEG2 to be able to see them on my car DVD player?

What program can I use to do this (if necessary)? Can it be downloaded for free?

If your car DVD players supports VCD (Video CD) format, you do have to convert them to MPEG, not MPEG-2. MPEG-2 is SVCD (Super Video CD), but if your DVD player supports them as well, go nuts! As for help with which software to use and where to get it, go to www.vcdhelp.com There are many different apps you can use for what you want to do, but you'd better have a fast computer. Such conversion could take hours and plenty of CPU speed, depending on the length of the file to be converted.
