Talking Moving on up.

Well guys, I have good news for myslef...lol

I just bought a 1.8l engine from Tripoint Engineering. It should be here in about a month.

NO MORE POS 1.6l

I am also getting a new transmission. Most likely the G series from the 2.0l, which means
NO MORE AUTO (I'm even more happy about this)

I can't wait to get out of school for summer so I can start working overtime at both of my jobs. *Cha Ching* Where's that "got money" pic TheMan?lol

I know I said I was going to be the ginea pig for the 1.5 S-VT head, but this deal was good. So I'm not doing that anymore, unless I have a lot of extra cash. My 1.6 is going to my friend with a 1.5l 2nd gen. He's just as happy as me...lol(We may try the head swap, and if he decides to do it, I'll let you all know)

I'm so happy about this. I can't wait. Now let the performance mods begin.

BTW, since the engine is already out, I'm going to chrome out anything that I can. BLING BLING!

The 1.8 looks very much the 2.0, except it uses a distributor instead of a coilpack. The 2.0 FS-ZE I think uses a distributor too, at least that's what I saw on corksport.com.

How was the engine displacement enlarged on the FS-DE? Is it an enlarged version of the FP-DE?

If I'm not mistaken, I heard the 1.8 is destroked compared to the 2.0.

Looks distributorless to me. But it does not have coil on wire like my 2.0L has. I would hope anyone who has bought a car in the last decade didn't get stuck with a distributor.

Both the FP-DE and the FS-ZE use a distributor-less coil pack ignition system.

The FS-DE get it's larger displacement from the 7mm longer stroke it has over the FP-DE. The bore is the same.
