looking for video hardware for comp

I'm looking for some sort of hardware that I can hook up my camcorder (not digital) to, so I can transfer movies on to my computer. Do any of you know of any good hardware for this that comes with good software? Something under $100 if possible. TIA

For under $100, you probably won't find much...and not much is designed for digital, either. There is a way, though. You can spend about $100 on a TV tuner with UHF and S-Video inputs which will come with video capture software. If you're looking to hook up your camera via RCA cables, you can use a VCR as a go-between.

I've worked with a few videos using my TV tuner, and it's worked pretty well, in a crude sort of way, but it did the job! I used it while inputting a student film that a friend of mine has worked on to do the sound mix...here is the web page with the results.

Also, you might want to find a way to get your hands on Adobe Premier to do your editting on...it'll make life much easier.
